About the Project

Duration: 2024 - present.

Kinara and SeedScience work side by side to raise the quality of science education in twelve primary and secondary schools spread across Morogoro Municipal District. The collaboration begins by selecting a cohort of enthusiastic educators—an equal mix of women and men—who complete a rigorous series of workshops on student-centred, inquiry-based teaching.

Armed with new techniques and low-cost materials, these teachers create SeedScience clubs and weave practical experiments into their daily lessons, reaching thousands of students with hands-on learning that replaces rote memorisation with observation, questioning and teamwork. Regular supervisory visits, peer-exchange meetings and an active support network keep ideas flowing and challenges solved.

Public science days and inter-school showcases draw families, officials and community leaders into the excitement. Pupils present homemade microscopes, water-filters and chemical reactions, sharpening communication skills while fuelling a district-wide celebration of scientific thinking.

By empowering teachers and engaging students, the programme builds a self-sustaining culture of curiosity and experimentation. Classrooms become laboratories of discovery, clubs become hubs of peer learning, and a growing network of educators continues to push science education forward long after the initial training ends.
